I always get so excited to do projects, but it is never until I am in the middle of it that I seem to recall that I have no idea what I am doing, or that I'm not too much of a creatively minded person. It comes together okay most of the time, but I'm sure that trial and error isn't the most effective way of getting it there!
But alas, the chair is finished! And bonus, so that we can return the staple gun and extension cord to it's rightful owner, I did the matching ottoman today too.So here is the process and the mess...
The original chair (it has a matching brown corduroy chair, which may or may not get an overhaul now that I know what the whole process entails..)

And now, after long breaks in between (when I actually wanted the mess to be cleaned up for a little while, and forget that I still hadn't finished the thing) Here is the final masterpiece!
and the ottoman...

AHHHHHH!!!!! It looks perfect!!! I love it! Totally professional! I think you should totally do the other one - it looks uberchic and FABULOUS!!
Megan, I am seriously SO impressed, what a fantastic job. Love the fabric and the placement. It is a million times improvement!, Give yourself a little break and then do the other one, it will be much easier now that you know what you are doing! WOW! Makes me want to try it, when are you going to be in town again?? hee hee
Geoff says "It runs in the family" referring to your funny comment about starting a project and then in the middle realizing you don't know how to finish. LOL. Can't tell you how many projects are still in the "I want to forget I started" phase. LOL. Good job finishing.
LOL, didn't realize that Geoff was logged in. Great job!!
We're both way impressed! I think Grant could stare at all the colors all day. Maybe someday when we're ambitious enough to take on a project like that, we'll give you guys a call when we don't know how to put it back together
it's glorious!
WOW! I'm so impressed! I don't think you can really say you don't have a creative mind. :)
Okay, you do realize that if you sold that on ebay I would TOTALLY BUY IT! I love the chair and my husband described it as "beautifully Berkeley" (no joke, he actually said that!) and in our neck of the woods that is a huge compliment! I love the blog too, glad to see all it well.
I am so impressed! Great job! Love ya - Mom
Way impressed. Can you show us how to do that? Hey, when are we going to hang out? Hope things are going well.
