Kite Festival

A wind farm has been built at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. The Energy harvested from the 9 giant windmills is sold to the local energy company and supplies enough energy for 74% of the town.

To celebrate, this year they held the first Kite Festival

They had kites pulled by 4-wheelers and Wave runners, and then the good ole' fashioned kind.

I love innovative ideas, especially earth friendly ones, and I love kites, so this made for a fabulous Saturday afternoon!

I was just thinking a few months ago that I wanted to go to a kite festival. I wonder if they have any in Idaho...
