it's not easy being green

i love the color green. I love grass, limes, pears, spring leaves, bamboo, clovers and even moss...

so how come i can kinda hate every green paint chip at home depot?
*** this photo isn't really true to color, so that doesn't really help much either...

So- we went with the one on the right- japanese fern- it looks much better on the whole wall without the kelly green background (bobby kept asking me what kelly green was, and why i kept calling it that) i promise, at least to me, it doesn't look like split pea soup....

My mom's trick (we moved 15 times so we repainted a LOT)was to fine the color you love and then move up one shade lighter on the paint chip. Also, when we painted our house a few years ago we found most of our colors at Lowe's, if that helps. Another thought is to paint white and then do green strips or accents or something.

Green is good. Chalk it up to pregnancy hormones. Some good Retro furniture would look great with those greens. Good luck.

So....which green did you choose? I'm dying to know.

I love green. My dining room is a moss green and my living room a khaki green. The moss green I got from taking the Pottery Barn catalog to Home Depot and had them make it in Glidden(cheap)using that fabulous machine of theirs. It turned out to be a great color. My sister has it in her kitchen and my aunt has it in her reading room. Just a thought on getting a color other than the poor selections on those walls.
